Privacy Policy

FilmCounter is a footage counter for motion picture film, available at app.filmcounter.app, with this website at filmcounter.app. It is developed and operated by William Hecht, a sole proprietor ("we", "us"). The short version: we don't collect your data.
What stays on your device
Everything you enter in FilmCounter (formats, frame rates, roll lengths, takes, rolls, projects and saved presets) is stored only in your browser's storage on your own device. It is never sent to us. It only leaves your device when you share a roll yourself, through your phone's share sheet or by copying it. There is no account, no sign-in, and no sync between devices.
Because it lives only on your device, we can't see it, recover it, or delete it for you. Clearing your browser's data for the app, or losing the device, can remove it.
What we don't do
- No accounts, names or email addresses.
- No analytics, tracking or advertising.
- No cookies.
- No selling or sharing of data, because we don't have any.
Hosting
The app and this website are served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't run analytics on that traffic and don't keep logs of your visits.
Links to other apps
FilmCounter links to our other apps, CamLog and LoaderLog. Those are separate services with their own privacy policies, which apply if you use them.
Children
FilmCounter is a professional tool and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
